of Freight Industries (JFFI). This leading association of the logistics
industry in Japan annually recognizes companies and organizations for their
distinguished environmental accomplishments in the field of logistics and

The following efforts were highly evaluated in winning this award.
| (1) |
Reduced lifecycle CO2 emissions through the extension of building life and reduction of required maintenance by adopting precast concrete, in addition to the reinforced concrete and seismically isolated structure |
| (2) |
Promoted energy conservation in aspects of the facilities by using highly insulated Low-E (low emission) glass for office windows; incorporating a total heat exchanger into the air conditioning system; and interfacing the ON/OFF management of the warehouse lighting with the card readers at the entrances and exits. |
| (3) |
Paid extra attention to the surrounding environment by donating a part of the premises to Ibaraki City after building a sidewalk on it to preserve the existing row of cherry blossom trees. |
| (4) |
( Reduced CO2 emissions during construction by shortening the work period through the reuse of molds and modification of conventional construction methods. |
| (5) |
Reduced CO2 emissions during operation because completion of this center consolidated the cargo storage places which enabled a reduction of delivery frequency. |
This effort to reduce CO2 emissions through consolidation of logistics
centers has been certified by the Kinki Transport Bureau as a “Comprehensive
Streamlining Plan” under the Act on Advancement of Integration and Streamlining
of Distribution Business.
